In these unprecedented times, with synagogues and churches closed, for some people these were due to be the weirdest and most bizarre festivals they have ever celebrated. Join us as we hear from two religious leaders, and others in the community about their experiences and how they coped and are coping.

Our featured speakers:
The Rev’d Dr Colleen O’Reilly: is an Anglican priest. She is currently the Chaplain to Trinity College at the University of Melbourne, and was the Vicar of St George’s Malvern from 2007 until Easter 2019. This is the first Holy Week and Easter in 70 years that Colleen has not taken part in or led services at the most important time of the Church’s year. Like so many, she is separated at present from family in Sydney, London and Scotland. Colleen is a member of the Executive of CCJ, something she thinks her Jewish convict ancestor would find astonishing.

Rabbi Daniel Rabin originates from Johannesburg and studied in Israel, USA, South Africa and Australia. Apart from rabbinic ordination, he holds Masters degree in Counselling and Psychotherapy and loves teaching adult Jewish education. Daniel was elected President of the Rabbinical Council of Victoria in 2016 after serving as its Vice-President for two years. He served as rabbi at the North Eastern Jewish Centre (in Doncaster) for 7 years. At the beginning of 2018 he became the spiritual leader of the South Caulfield Hebrew Congregation.
